Ein bisschen Lob hie und da kann die wissenschaftliche Arbeit allerdings erleichtern.

Ich habe mein Studium mit Politikwissenschaften und Recht begonnen und mit Biostatistik und Computational Science abgeschlossen. Zurzeit arbeite ich am Institut für Mathematik der Universität Zürich zu Frage, wie sich explorative Grundlagenforschung statistisch planen und auswerten lässt. Ebenso bin ich Mitglied der Tierversuchskommission des Kantons Zürich.

Neben meiner wissenschaftlichen Arbeit setze ich mich ein für eine wissenschaftsfreundliche Kultur und habe dazu die wissenschaftliche Ideenschmiede «Reatch» mitgegründet.

Ich schreibe viel, moderiere gerne und diskutiere oft – manchmal alles gleichzeitig.

Once I was an avid tamer of fruit flies and the merciless bane of infectious worms. Then I realised that statistical subtleties are much more to my liking.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in biology with minors in neuroinformatics, law, and political sciences as well as a Master’s degree in biostatistics from the University of Zurich. I then finished a second Master's degree in Computational Science and Engineering at EPFL Lausanne.

My current work at the Institute of Mathematics of the University of Zurich focuses on reproducibility and good statistical practice in animal research with a particular focus on the design and the analysis of exploratory research.
